Giovanni Benvenuti (born April 26, 1938 in Isola, Istria, now Izola, Slovenia), better known as Nino Benvenuti, is an Italian former boxer who is considered by many, including noted boxing writer Brian Doogan, to be the greatest boxer ever from Italy.
Benvenuti went to the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, where he earned the Welterweight division's gold medal and the Val Barker trophy as the Games' best boxer. At the end of his amateur career he had an outstanding record of 120 wins and no losses.
