Rodolfo "El Gato" Gonzalez
Rodolfo “El Gato” Gonzalez was born on December 16th, 1945 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Gonzalez started his career very young at the age of 14 and won his first 53 bouts with 50 of these wins coming by knockout. With a series of impressive victories he got his chance for glory and capitalized. In 1972, he took on Chango Carmona for the WBC Lightweight title and won via stoppage from the corner of Carmona in the 13th round. El Gato fought with great skill and determination making himself the new champion of the world. Gonzalez defended his title four times. Gonzalez was a devastating puncher and was named to Ring Magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. He finished his career with 81 wins, 71 by way of KO and claimed his place as a great in the history of boxing.
