Lennox Lewis
Lennox Lewis was born September 2nd, 1965 in London, England to Jamaican immigrants. He is regarded as one of the best Heavyweights ever. Lennox moved to Ontario, Canada and in 1988 defeated Riddick Bowe by 2nd round TKO winning the Gold Medal for Canada. Lewis declared himself a professional boxer and moved back to England. The early part of his pro career was filled with knock outs of journeymen, and he quickly rose in the world rankings. On October 31st, 1992, Lewis knocked out "Razor" Ruddock in 2 rounds for the No.1 contender's position in the WBC world rankings. Bowe had become world heavyweight champion and refused to fight Lewis. On January 14th, 1993, the WBC declared Lewis its champion, making him the first world heavyweight title holder from Britain in the 20th century. Lennox Lewis confidently and bravely fought the best his division had to offer including Evander Holyfield and Iron Mike Tyson. He is a former undisputed lineal heavyweight champion. Along with Muhammad Ali and Evander Holyfield, Lewis is only one of three boxers in boxing history to have won the heavyweight championship three times thus solidifying his place in history as a true boxing legend.
